Happy Body, Happy Life
“Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness.” So starts Joseph Pilates’ book written in 1945. The whole premise of his exercise program was to connect people to their body, mind and spirit. We hear this a lot today but Joseph Pilates was talking about it 75 years ago!
A good pilates program requires focus. The precise movements of Pilates exercises puts the brain in the game. Awareness of breath connects the mind with the body. Fluidity of the movement creates strength and flexibility. These are three key principles of Pilates. It is a program designed for everyone; young and old, flexible and inflexible, ordinary and the extraordinary. A Pilates session should make you feel more connected to your body and have more energy. Feeling connected and having more energy can permeate into the rest of your life.
Joseph Pilates said “Everyone is the architect of their own happiness”. Changing your body could change your life. When our bodies feel good it creates a solid foundation for a happier life.s
